Key Takeaways
- Full coverage bras use taller cups, wider straps, and a supportive band to cover most of the bust and prevent spillage.
- They’re especially built for larger and heavier busts, reducing underarm bulge while keeping straps from digging or slipping.
- A proper fit means no gaping, no band ride-up, and no strap slip — small size adjustments fix most common issues.
- Sizing is the same across every Thirdlove style (AA–H with half cups), so you can switch styles without remeasuring.
- The collection spans t-shirt, minimizer, wireless, underwire, sports, lace, cotton, and post-surgery styles to match any body and occasion.
When you have fuller breasts, you want support that lasts all day without the constant readjusting. That’s exactly what Thirdlove’s full coverage bras are built for, especially if you have a larger or heavier bust. On this page you’ll learn what a full coverage bra is, the benefits it offers larger busts, how it should fit, how to find your size, and which style is right for you.
You don’t have to settle for a bra that looks good on the rack but fails by lunchtime. Our full coverage bras feel snug and comfortable when you put them on, and they come in a range of shapes and colors to suit different bodies. Every design comes in half-cup sizes across AA–H, so you can get closer to a true fit.
What Is A Full Coverage Bra?
A full coverage bra is a bra with cups that cover most of your breast tissue, offering more coverage across the top and sides than a plunge or demi style. It typically pairs that fuller cup with wider straps, a supportive band, and smoothing side construction.
It’s made for anyone who wants dependable support and nipple coverage under clothes. If you have a larger or heavier bust and you’re tired of spillage, digging, or slipping, a full coverage bra is the everyday style built for you.
What Are The Benefits Of Full Coverage Bras For Larger Busts?
Larger breasts need extra support, and that’s where full coverage bras do their best work. Here’s what you get:
- Real support that stays put: Wider straps, a comfortable underwire option, and flexible side boning hold you up so you’re not readjusting all day.
- No spillage or bulging: Fuller cups that go higher across the top keep you from overflowing, and the side panels tame underarm bulge.
- Smoothing under clothes: Ultra-thin cups and smoothing construction create a clean line, so your bra disappears under a t-shirt.
- Nipple coverage: The lightly lined cups give you coverage without adding bulk.
- Half-cup sizing: Every style comes in AA–H with half cups, so you can land between sizes instead of settling for “close enough.”
How Should A Full Coverage Bra Fit?
A full coverage bra should feel supportive and smooth, with no digging, gaping, or slipping. If something feels off, the fix is usually a small adjustment or a size tweak. Here’s how to troubleshoot the most common issues:
- Spillage over the cup: If you’re overflowing at the top or sides, you likely need a larger cup. Try going up a cup size while keeping the same band.
- Gaping cups: If the cup wrinkles or there’s a gap at the top, size down in the cup or try a style with more shaping.
- Band riding up: The band should sit level and snug across your back. If it rides up, go down a band size for more support.
- Straps slipping: Our wide memory-foam straps use no-slip technology, so they stay on your shoulders without digging in. Adjust them so they’re snug but not tight.
How Do I Measure My Size For A Full Coverage Bra?
A lot of shoppers ask if full coverage sizing is different from our other bras. It isn’t. The sizing is the same across all Thirdlove styles, so once you know your size you can try different styles without remeasuring.
