To Each, Her Own is a celebration of who women actually are — not who they're told to be. Though we decided to use both models and real women in this campaign, they're all women who inspire us with their strength and vulnerability. Our series, Her Story, is a chance to get to know more about them.

Meet one of the six women.

Darleen Rae Fontaine, 27

TL: How would you describe yourself in three words?

DAR: “Driven, visionary, pensive.”

TL: What’s something most people might not assume about you at first glance?

DAR: “That I can be super silly and love to make people laugh.”

TL: What quality do you love most about yourself?

DAR: “My sensitivity and empathy.”

TL: What do you love most about your appearance?

DAR: “I love my warm, disarming smile.”

TL: When and where are you happiest?

DAR: “I’m at my happiest when I’ve either nailed a particularly difficult dance routine or when I’m just in my room painting my next creation.”

TL: If you could give your younger self advice, what would you tell her?

DAR: “Don’t listen to anyone who tries to put any seed of doubt in your mind.”

DAR: “‘Summertime Magic’ by Childish Gambino.”

TL: What does To Each, Her Own mean to you?

DAR: “To Each, Her Own to me means owning what differences you have unapologetically.”

TL: What is your motto?

DAR: “Everything happens for a reason and it’s always for the best.”
